We have been planning this for years and it finally all came together. We have sold our home and moved into our RV. The last 2 years have been a lot of work and stress with getting the house fixed up and ready to sell. We have lived in this house for 23 years and have accumulated a lot of stuff in that time. Our plan was to downsize everything we needed to live in our motorhome and sell most of what was left besides our keepsakes and a few other favorites. It’s hard to let all your personal belongings go, but we are most likely going to relocate to another state after we travel for awhile in our rv and storage fees would really add up. I think we did pretty good. We had a rummage sale about 3 weeks before our closing date on the house and got rid of most of our stuff. Some larger things we sold on Craigslist and the rest we gave away or took to Goodwill. The timing of when to get rid of things was the hardest part. You don’t want to sell something that you might still need and have to go buy it again. We were living in the house up to the day of turning it over to the new owners, so yard work and home maintenance still needed to be done. Also personal belongings like beds, chairs, and a tv we needed to keep around until a few days before we moved out. It all actually moved very fast and is now kind of a blur. Our home sold after being on the market for only 8 days and closing on the house was 40 days later. We are thankful for family and friends that helped us with all of this. It was a stressful time, but now we move on to our new journey in life.
